Snap Photography is a camera for iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max. If something in the finder, the ring, Watch, or Negatives is wrong, mail us. Include the device, iOS version, and whether you were on the physical iris or the simulator.
Hardware floor
The mechanical iris is Fusion Main on iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max running iOS 27. Ultra Wide, Telephoto, and Center Stage still shoot — their apertures are fixed, as Apple published. Older iPhones get the UI and a simulated ring; setExposureModeCustom(lensAperture:) is a no-op until the hardware answers.
Common setup
- Allow Camera, or the finder stays on the simulated preview.
- Allow Photos to save Iris Stack sequences.
- Allow Motion for the horizon level.
- On Watch, open Snap Watch while the iPhone app is in the foreground so WatchConnectivity can push preview frames.
